[ Faber] will be judging the images and selecting the winner and runners-up after all entries have been reviewed. Approved results appear Sunday 1 November 2026 at 6 pm Pacific/Auckland. Until then—or if results are still being reviewed—judging continues here.

Before you send it

About your entry.

Why do you need the RAW file?

The original file helps us review the image’s origin and compare it with the finished photograph. It supports a human editorial check; it is not an automatic guarantee of authorship or a perfect AI detector.

What editing is welcome?

Normal photographic editing—such as exposure, colour, cropping, sharpening and noise reduction—is welcome. Disclose any AI-assisted tools. AI-generated images and generatively added or replaced subjects are not eligible.

Does the photo have to be taken in New Zealand?

No. The photographer must be from New Zealand or currently live here; the photograph may be taken anywhere.

What if I don’t have a RAW file?

The current entry form requires a camera-original RAW file. If you shoot film or JPEG-only, contact Faber before subscribing for competition access to discuss whether alternative evidence can be accepted.

Do you own my photo after I enter?

No. You keep your copyright. The permission is to publish selected work with credit and promote the issue it appears in. We do not sell your image to third parties or give your RAW file to sponsors.

How are photographs selected?

[ Faber] will be judging the images and the stories behind them. Selection is not based on follower count, experience level or a public popularity vote.
